What You’ll Learn — Week After Week
Weeks 1-3 – Getting Started
- Week 1: Welcome to music-making + Ableton Live
- Week 2: Drum sounds and basic rhythms with samples
- Week 3: Build our first Drum Rack
Weeks 4-5 – Confidence Building & Revise Weeks
- Revise Weeks 1–3 and build confidence
Weeks 6–8: The Beat Factory
- Week 6: Create loops with our Drum Rack
- Week 7: Make dance beats
- Week 8: Name tracks, organise channels, and basic gain staging
Weeks 9–10: Review & Sharing
- Practice beat-making skills
- Share creations with classmates
Weeks 11–13: Melody Magic
- Week 11: Try different instruments
- Week 12: Create simple melodies
- Week 13: Combine melodies with beats
Weeks 14–15: Review + Mini-Concert
- Parents invited on Week 15
Weeks 16–18: Sound Adventure
- Week 16: Select videos to create sound design for it.
- Week 17: Explore Splice and choose the right sounds
- Week 18: Create sound stories
Weeks 19–20: Review & Revision
Weeks 21–23: Music Building Blocks
- Week 21: Simple song structure for video ( from week 16 ) (beginning, middle, end)
- Week 22: Make verses and choruses
- Week 23: Add excitement and transitions
Weeks 29–30: Review + Mini DJ Party (Parents) + Video Sound Design Showcase
- Week 31: Microphone safety
- Week 32: Record our own sounds
- Week 33: Add our voices to our project
Weeks 31–33: Recording Time
- Week 36: Plan our final song
- Week 37: Cleaning up with EQs
- Week 38: Adding final touches
